TECHNICAL SPONSORSHIP
RESTORATION OF SEPULCHRE OF GAIUS PUBLICIUS BIBULUS
PLEBEIAN AEDILE (1st century BC)
Rome, Piazza Venezia/Imperial Fora
Archeometra is the technical Sponsor of the project to restore and valorisation the Sepulchre of Gaius Publicius Bibulus, under the supervision of the Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali.
The monument was in desperate need of work to restore its overall appearance and make its inscriptions legible again, given its central and highly visible location in the center of Rome. The project will contribute to the appreciation of a unique historical-archaeological legacy: the ruins of the Sepulchre of G.P. Bibulus at the foot of the Capitoline Hill are a rare example of a public funerary monument dating back to the Republican age of Rome.
